Circular BIM model developed in the Netherlands

PROCOS Group has developed the Circular BIM concept in the Netherlands.
Usually a BIM (Building Information Model) was used only for design and built. Traditionally the 3D data-model was downgraded to a 2D dwg drawing to deliver the ‘As-Built’ to the customer.
With the real-time and bi-directional integration of ARCHIBUS with AutoCAD, Revit, Sky-Walker, ArcGIS and Exchange it is possible to re-use the full BIM-data for As-Built, As-Maintained and FM BIM objectives. However, this requires a BIM Protocol and Employer’s Information Requirements designed with ‘the end in mind’. It makes it possible to BIM data circular instead of just linear.
PROCOS Group in the Netherlands (www.procosgroep.nl) has written an article on the concept together with Autodesk’s EMEA Manager AEC Collaboration & Data Management, Menno de Jonge. It is published (in Dutch) in Facility Management Magazine (https://www.fmm.nl/topics/huisvesting-vastgoed/achtergrond/maak-building-information-modeling-bim-circulair).
